SVBC’s Board and Staff Updates from the Bike Lane

As we kick off the new year, we are celebrating the arrival of talented new bike champions joining Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition’s Board of Directors and staff. Additionally, we acknowledge the outstanding contributions of two members of our current team, recognizing their well-deserved promotions.

Together, we embark on a year of growth, empowerment, and continued advocacy for better biking and safe streets for all.

Welcome to the Board of Directors, Hong Quan

Hong Quan’s journey began with refurbishing a discarded Schwinn and has evolved into a career shaping startups, including ventures in the transportation and electric bicycle industries. As the mind behind Karmic City, he pioneered revolutionary ebike designs and remains committed to bridging the gap between everyday riders and enthusiasts. Hong's love for racing and vintage bikes, coupled with his dedication to solving global issues through cycling, align perfectly with SVBC's mission. Join us in welcoming Hong as he brings his experience and fervor for bicycling to our growing team.

Meet Kyle Klimas, Our New Programs Coordinator

We're excited to welcome Kyle Klimas as our new Programs Coordinator. A League Certified Instructor with a background in bicycle advocacy and bike shop management, Kyle has already hit the ground running in support of SVBC's workshops and social rides. Born and raised in the Bay Area, he understands the positive impact cycling has on local communities. With a keen eye on supporting Bike to Wherever Days in May, Kyle's commitment to advancing cycling is what brought him to our team. Join us in welcoming Kyle as he embarks on this journey to further strengthen SVBC.

Congratulations Sandhya Laddha, SVBC’s Deputy Director

We are pleased to announce Sandhya Laddha’s promotion from Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition’s Director of Advocacy to our Deputy Director. Hailing from India, Sandhya's journey at SVBC began as a volunteer, but quickly grew. With a background in architecture and urban planning, Sandhya brings immense experience and sensitivity to the importance of transportation justice and accessibility within our community. Join us in celebrating Sandhya's well-deserved promotion and continued contributions to SVBC's success.

Congratulations Anthony Montes, SVBC’s Associate Director of Advocacy and Development

Congratulations to Anthony on his promotion to Associate Director of Advocacy and Development. A South Bay native, Anthony's commitment to community improvement began in high school, organizing the iMatter campaign against cuts to teaching staff. Join us in applauding Anthony as he takes on this new role.
