Park Avenue bike lanes in San José

While Park Avenue is supposed to be the bike-friendly alternative to The Alameda, the bicycle facilities are inconsistent; some areas are extremely narrow, and there are blind curves where the bike lanes disappear. However, Park is the only direct route other than The Alameda that connects from Santa Clara, Santa Clara University and Caltrain station to downtown San Jose and Diridon station. It should be safe for all users and provide a lower speed alternative to The Alameda. Park Avenue bike lanes are a part of the City of San Jose’s bike plan. SVBC is supporting the city’s plan to install continuous bike facilities on Park Ave to make it safe for people who bike of all ages.
